Hope We Never Meet Again – Srinath Krishnamoorthy

(Reviewed by Darshith Badiyani )

I must admit that I’m not an avid reader anymore but there are a few books that hold my interest right from the prologue until the very end. Hope We Never Meet Again is one of those few books. When I first heard about the title ‘Hope we never meet again’, I thought it might be love related but it’s much more than that.

The book is full of love, thrills, lust, mystery, regrets and, in the end, hoping not to meet again. I love to read books in intervals and at ease but this book was not that. This book needed my urgent attention and didn’t allow me to keep it aside and concentrate on other works.

It starts with the death of the protagonist, Varun Diwakar, an IT professional, and each chapter thereafter takes us to a new level of suspense and revelation of characters. Varun finds the dark secrets of the people in his life and they belong to various generations. The characters are so strong and detailed and the story is well woven to give one of the most jaw-dropping endings.

Hope We Never Meet Again is Srinath Krishnamoorthy’s debut novel and I am sure you’ll not feel like it’s his first novel because he seems to be a seasoned writer.
