Have you ever purchased a “bestseller” and struggled just to get through the first few chapters? You drudge along the tedious 300+ pages in fear that  if you don’t, you’ll miss the climax that made it all worthwhile. You finally get to that last page and wish you followed your instincts.  You can’t figure out  the mass appeal. In other words, you just don’t get it.

Don’t worry, you’re not alone. In fact, this just may be the site for you.
Welcome to Underrated Reads, where we discover books that for some unknown reason have not and probably will never make it to the bestseller  lists, even though they more than deserve it. They can range from fiction to biographies to health and beyond. The categories are vast, but our purpose is clear and succinct. We strive to discover the best in the written word.

Who hasn’t? One of my worst was FIFTY SHADES OF GRAY. Luckily, I realized at about page twelve that it wasn’t for me, not because of the erotica, but I found the characters very flat. But that was just me.

You reflected my mind very aptly.. There are many times, I have read a book and wondered why it hasn’t become a bestseller yet, as well as few made me think, why would this book be appreciated by the masses.. 🙂

All the best for the work you do.. 🙂

  3. I read about on a Sisters in Crime listserve. I am interested in getting my book, Intent to Hold, reviewed. Please let me know how to go about this.

Lord, yes! 50 Shades of Gray I couldn’t get past about page ten no matter how hard I tried. But I’ve learned, if a book doesn’t grab me in yhe first twenty pages or so, it never will.
