Mortal Conspiracy is a crime mystery novel written about Dr. Brad Pierson investigating the death of Butch Kennedy. Butch passed away after he had a second heart attack, and Dr. Pierson is the one who performed his autopsy. A few weeks later, the 29-year-old pathologist happens to come across the report he wrote, only to notice changes in it, raising questions for him. The integument causes him to dig further and discover a conspiracy that leads to much-anticipated drama and suspense.
The tale was well-written, and I enjoyed reading about Pierson’s adventure figuring out how deep the conspiracy went. He goes up against some influential people, and as a young physician, it was nice to see him handle all the trouble that occurred.
I predominantly enjoyed the fact that the author raised an issue that does get overlooked in the real world. Patients do wholeheartedly trust what they are told and for that, the doctors or medical insurance companies can benefit from this trust in so many ways.
The story was engaging. The characters were relatable, and it was effortless to bond with Pierson. I recommend this story to anyone who likes to read action fiction and mystery novels.
