Secrets To Being Amazing: What confident people don’t do – Denise Wijayaratne

“Self- awareness is the first step to change, and to a better world.”

“Find the good things you like about yourself and focus all your time on that. If somebody says something unpleasant about you, ask yourself if that’s true. If the answer is yes, then the next question is, what can you do to improve that area of your life? If it’s false, don’t spend another minute thinking about it.”

Yes, we all know this, but sometimes we need a gentle nudge (or a kick in the butt) to remind us that we have the power to experience life to the fullest. This is what author Denise Wijayaratne offers in her book, Secrets To Being Amazing: What confident people don’t do.

She reminds us that self-awareness is crucial in order to engage in successful relationships. Why do we criticize others? Why can’t we be honest with ourselves as well as others?

Wijayaratne provides advice on how to find true passion, and how to proceed once we think we have found it. She also shows us how to reprogram our subconscious mind. How do we deal with our inadequacies and how do we cope with the natural ups and downs in life?

At only fifty-eight pages, there’s no fluff, just motivating ideas on developing a strong sense of self. Though we have heard the concepts before, Wijayaratne states them in unique ways that may make them stick in our minds.

Secrets To Being Amazing is a guide that I will refer to often for that well-needed reminder and “pick-me-up”.
