The Emissary (One Great Year Book 1) – Tamara Veitch, Rene DeFazio

(Reviewed by Jeyran Main)

The Emissary is a trilogy fantasy novel written about a group of supernaturals that come to earth in order to assist humans in welcoming what is known as the Great Year. Every twenty-six thousand years, the Atitalans, who are also known as the Emissaries, usher in the Great Year.

The Emissaries primarily consist of three, named Marcus, Theron, and Helghul. Initially, all three used to get along, and Marcus and Theron were lovers. However, Helghul turned against them, and the fight between good and evil starts.

The story does not just end there though. A character named Quinn, who is Theron’s soul mate joins the storyline and changes all the dynamics of the story. As the book is to be a trilogy, the ending was not clear however it did create enough interest for the upcoming second book.

All the encounters are to save humanity, guide them back to enlightenment and rekindle a timeless tale of love. However, alongside the story, we experience many encounters as the story takes on thirteen thousand years of reincarnations.

These immortals were sent to help the humans and to create this hyper thrilling tale. I recommend this book to fantasy lovers and those who find these storylines interesting.
