The Jealousy of Jalice is a dark fantasy written about Annilasia and Delillee risking their lives, attempting to overthrow a tyrant that has enslaved a tribe and corrupted others.
The plan? Let’s kidnap his wife. However, things don’t go as planned as secrets are revealed, and subsequently, the plan goes awry. The three then have to scramble their way out of this very descriptive fantasy world, escaping from demons and monsters.
The world described was enchanting as well as terrifying. As this electric debut took you on an adventure, the literature kept you on your feet, wanting to know more. The book was filled with action scenes and felt modern yet crowded your mind with sword and sorcery.
I particularly enjoyed the message embodied in the story. Jealousy does bring out ugliness and impropriety to the world it’s exposed to, and the notion of compassion, growth and accepting what is to build a better you were, in my opinion, the highlight of this tale.
The characters were easy to bond with, and due to the cast not being complicated and hard to remember, I found the book to have a solid foundation for it.
I would recommend this book to people who like to read dark fantasy material and enjoy genuine rich stories.
