A much needed reminder of our ratings

Dear readers, authors, publicists and publishers,

I have received numerous comments on books that have received a “3 bookmark” (highly recommended) rating. Some of you have asked, “Why did my book only receive 3 bookmarks?”

Since we only post reviews of books that we highly recommend, a 3 bookmark rating is positive.  That is, a big deal!

A “4 bookmark” rating is considered a “must-read”,  so obviously it takes a lot for a book to be given that rating. And please consider this: A “5 bookmark” rating, a “must-read now!” is seldom awarded.

I realize that our ratings are subjective based on the biases of the reviewer. I also realize that you believe that the book you wrote is the best one ever published.

However if we agree to read your book and not to post a review, that is our opinion and is clearly stated on the website.  What is also clearly stated throughout the site that a “3 bookmark” rating means that we highly recommend your book and that is a good thing.

I do apologize that we cannot read all submissions. Since our staff is small and unpaid (including me), we only choose books that may be of interest to us.  For example, I don’t care for Fantasy, and could not give such a book a fair read.  However, some of our reviewers do enjoy that genre. So please continue to submit your writing.

Thank you for your time,

JD Jung
