Overcoming Anxiety & Depression: A step-by-step guide to overcoming anxiety and depression, lower stress and learn how to practice self-love and self-compassion … Affirmations, Happiness, stress management) – Lydia Francis

(Reviewed by Pat Luboff)

This is going to be a very short review. This is a very short book! My review copy was in PDF format. Take away the title page, the index, the forward and a last “keep in touch” page, and what’s left is twenty-four typewritten pages. Pages with lots of space on them and not so many words. But, holy mackerel, what words!

Ms. Francis first clarifies the difference between anxiety and depression. Then, in the clearest and most concise way possible, she tells the reader exactly what steps to overcome the terrible two.

I don’t think of myself as anxious or depressed, but I still got a lot out of this book. I passed it on to my husband, who struggles with these feelings and he saw right away how much it could help him. He’s underlined passages and made notes in the margins and has been re-reading sections every day.

As if this little gem wasn’t enough, there’s an invitation at the end to sign up for Ms. Francis’ email list and get a free download of another publication: “10 Ways to Practice Self Care So You Can Start Loving Yourself: A Guide for Those Suffering from Anxiety & Depression.”

In today’s tense world, EVERYONE could use this book!
