The country of Georgia is home to the Krubera Cave, the world’s deepest cave at 7,308 feet beneath the earth. Here is the setting for this spy thriller as the brother team of Damon and Ross Fraser join an international caving group to set a world record.

You would think that an expedition of this type would make for a fascinating adventure story, as it details the process of going down a mysterious cave, where their survival skills are put to the test. It does just that, but the author goes much further in incorporating espionage into this fascinating story. Damon Fraser is an attorney for the CIA and gets apprehended by the political leaders of Abkhazia who believe that an American is planning to assassinate a Presidential candidate and Damon has the means to stop it.

While the caving team starts their trek without him, Damon realizes that his brother’s life is in danger and must uncover who this American is and what is his motive. He needs to find assistance in the CIA office, but without the knowledge of the agency. There is only one person, Kari Howland, who he can trust.

He and Kari discover that there is corruption all around and both Russians, Americans as well as oil and gas companies are involved. Add to that, local police departments are funded by organized crime.

The way Damon uncovers this is very believable. How the author brings this all together is with a series of events and twists that puts you in a trance as you wonder how in the world will this all end. Each chapter has you spell-bound on what happens next. The writing is fast paced with unpredictable story lines falling into place.

The Krubera Conspiracy is a must-read that you won’t be able to put down.
