Two brothers live in a remote area of paradise, Weasel Cay, a fictitious island in the Caribbean. Charlie Spinnaker is a former Navy pilot who runs the local helicopter service from the island to Key West and Miami. His brother, Jeff is the local constable and owns the best beer drinking restaurant in this seaside town.

While Charlie talks about the true love he lost a long time ago, he spends his time trying to make ends meet. It’s a simple life on the island until a drug runner gets arrested and then gets killed while in jail.

The neighborhood drunk and local singer who made it big years ago all come into play as the residents get ready for their annual Weasel Cay Festival. As the local groups gather daily in the local watering hole, Charlie soon finds out his mysterious brother is part of the CIA and is searching for the drug lord who caused this murder.

Just when Charlie can’t figure out what’s going on, his helicopter crashes trying to leave the
island. He survives the crash but how does he help the CIA? Then when everything is going
haywire, his former girlfriend, a New York TV reporter, hears about the drug culture on the island and comes for a visit with her new boyfriend. What is he going to do? How about
sneaking to Cuba to help someone escape while still trying to find the drug dealer? Charlie
gets all confused but he’s a lovable character who you root for all the way.

It’s interesting how all these events happen to Charlie and how he gets his friends to help
him find the drug lord and try to rekindle his old flame to rejuvenate his life.

This first-time author has a lot of side stories to this island setting that makes it an enjoyable read.
